Cartridge Tempering Valve Product

DESIGNED FOR QUICK AND EASY SERVICING

The new TV 20 Tempering Valve is dimensionally identical to the existing TV 20. This means pipework will remain unchanged for replacement valves and provides the added convenience of quick and easy field servicing in the future.

REPLACEMENT COMPATIBILITY WITH EXISITING VALVES

Not all Apex Tempering Valves have the replaceable cartridge function, below are the steps to take in order to determine if an Apex tempering valve has a replaceable cartridge.

1. Remove the cap on the top of the tempering valve
2. Inspect the shape of the black plastic part underneath:

Round: The TV 20 does not have a replaceable cartridge. If faulty, the whole valve will need to be replaced with a new TV 20. You won’t need to change any of the pipework as the new TV 20 is dimensionally identical.

Hex: The TV 20 does have a replaceable cartridge If faulty, the valve internals can be easily replaced with the cartridge using the installation instructions.

LESS THAN 0.25% LEAD

The new Tempering Valve and Replaceable Cartridge complies with the incoming Acceptable Solution G12/AS1 requirement for dezincification resistant brass with a maximum allowable lead content of 0.25%.

BETTER for your customers, business and the ENVIRONMENT.

MBIE LOWERING THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE TEMPERATURE IN NEW ZEALAND

In October 2024, the maximum allowable temperature of the water in most buildings will be lowered from 55°C to 50°C to mitigate the risk of scalding injuries among New Zealanders.

We have already revised our manufacturing specifications to preset products to 50°C to ensure a smooth transition. Transitioning to 50°C may lead some customers to perceive the water as too cold for non-hygiene tasks such as dishes and laundry. To address this concern, it is acceptable to supply non-tempered water to kitchens and laundries, while providing tempered water to hygiene fixtures through either:

1. Installing a separate water supply via a single Tempering Valve for all hygiene fittings.
2. Utilizing point-of-use Tempering or Thermostatic mixing at all hygiene fixtures.
